Finally, we will wrap up the event with group presentations.Īfter the event, the sketches will be transformed into polished vector icons and will be printed on aluminum signage. You will then work through a process of transforming your personal message into pictoral elements. As a participant you will start off by concepting a message for your very own KindSign. The Noun Project in an exciting workshop where we will be creating a collection of these powerful pictographic messages. No design or art skills are necessary, all are welcome to participate. Participants include creatives, designers, artists, makers, and non-designers. KindSign, an open sourced art project is changing this by creating signage that communicates personalized provocative messages that will challenge, inspire and delight. The workshops are organized to engage the general public in the creative process. These primitive communication tools have stood the test of time because they can deliver a concise message at a specific location, they can communicate a complex message in a blink of an eye, and finally they can communicate a message in a universal way that everyone can understand. Since the first urban environments of the Roman Empire, signs have been used to direct, lead, and inform our behavior.
